Developing a Life-Long Love of Music

Music has been a part of my life since birth. Both of my parents are music educators; therefore, they have passed on to me their love of music and their desire to impart knowledge to others. Music is a beautiful means of expression and creativity. There is nothing else quite like it! Music is a profound influence in my life, and I can think of nothing better than sharing it with others.

My goal as a music teacher is to help develop in students a personal love and appreciation of music. Students are all unique individuals with their own personalities, feelings, thoughts, and goals. We all learn differently and have different musical tastes and passions, ranging from classical to sacred to popular styles. Lessons at Bailey Music Studio are focused on the individual needs, preferences, and goals of each student. Learning to play an instrument involves more than just perfecting a few pieces. Students will learn the skills needed to express themselves through music as they find their own unique sound and develop a love of music.  Music should be an outlet for students to freely express themselves and to reveal their personalities. Through my teaching, I seek to provide students with the tools such as the technical, sight-reading, aural, and theory skills necessary to study the music they would like to play. Lessons at Bailey Music Studio are designed with today’s culture in mind. From incorporating technology to reinforce new lesson concepts to playing music that you adore, students don’t just learn to play the piano. They learn to make music.

Weekly private lessons take place in my home studio and can be either 30 or 45 minutes depending on the students age, level, or preference. While the time in the studio each week is important, daily practice at home is essential for student success.

Bailey Music Studio is more than individual students taking lessons. It is a family. Students will meet together several times over the course of the year for group lessons to develop relationships, encourage one another, perform for others, and learn together.
