Meet the Teacher

Kara Bailey is a private piano teacher in Amarillo, TX.  She holds a B.A. of Musical Arts, piano emphasis, with a minor in Music Education from Oklahoma Baptist University and a Master’s of Music in Piano Pedagogy from Texas Christian University. Kara is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music and a licensed Music Together instructor. She has 15 years of private and group piano instruction experience and 3 years of experience with early childhood music classes. In addition to teaching, she is an experienced accompanist, has performed several solo piano recitals and a lecture recital, and has presented a session at the Music Teachers National Association Convention.

Kara developed a passion for music at a very young age through the influence of her parents, who are both music instructors. Because of the profound influence of music on her life, she has a strong desire to share it with others. Kara believes music is a gift from our Creator and should be experienced by all. She finds excitement in helping students of all ages discover joy through the love of music. She has been inspired by an excellent education and intends to pass that on to others. Throughout her career, she has had various teaching experiences and opportunities to work with students ranging from babies to retired adults. Kara considers it a privilege to have the opportunity and the ability to share music with others and to aid others in developing a lifelong enthusiasm for music. 

The Bailey family is thrilled to call Amarillo home. Kara's husband Brian serves as the Worship Pastor at The Church at Quail Creek. Kara loves serving in the church by accompanying the adult worship choir and leading in worship services through playing the piano. When not teaching or playing piano, Kara homeschools her three kids - Noah (12), Katherine (9), and Mollie (5).
